Weekend?

Do you get to call it a weekend if you don't really do anything instagram worthy?
I dunno....

Anyway,
Friday night we watched Netflix and chilled..cuz duh.
Saturday we spent hours on the phone with Samsung, ATT, DirectTV and Sirius..cuz ugh
Saturday afternoon/night we went to the Stanford Homecoming Game, which was SO much fun. We went with my coworker, her husband and brother and had a great time.

Sunday we watched football, went errand running and generally chilled.
Like I said, does it count as a weekend?

Weekend Wrapup

I love when weekends start early, dont you?

David and Susan were in town this week, having driven from Las Vegas to LA and then up Hwy 1 to get to us, so Mike and I took off early on Thursday to meet up with them and go to dinner (and watch the Mets game)

Friday after brunch, we went to the Winchester Mystery House. Built by the crazy heir to the Winchester rifle fourtune, it's an absolute mess of a house - and what happens when you dont stop building for decades and have an unlimited source of money. If you're in San Jose, it's worth the hour tour just because its so..odd Our tour guide Tristan was...uhm...animated ;)

Because it was such a gorgeous day, the four of us went across the street to Santana Row. Mike and David had fun in the Tesla store (see below) and we all enjoyed meandering through the California weather on a friday afternoon.

We had dinner on Friday night at Rok, which I've blogged about here. It's always a fun place to go if you want to work a bit for your steak ;) Also, fondue is fantastic. If you go - get the smores for desert.

Saturday was spent brunching and watching football (and the mets). Shiva enjoyed having her grandparents around - that's for sure. I mean, who doesnt love some extra cuddles and spoiling.

Sunday, as it should be, is a day of rest. Getting ready for the week while watching (what else) football and the mets. I just have one last pic for you. Mike is an animal magnet. I swear all three of them would follow him off the planet. Yes, Shiva looks sad - Mike was petting Oi and not her!

Weekend Recap

So maybe this weekend has been the best for revamping ye olde blog, considering all I've done is clean and chill but LAST WEEKEND was totally worth revisiting.
On Friday, I went back over to Bigsby House where Pualani made my hair all gorge and red again.

Saturday we went up to O.co on Oakland for the Athletics game. The pictures speak for themselves and yes, you really DO see Darth Vader and a little baby Chewbacca. It was Star Wars night! Mike grabbed one of the R2D2 A's beanies and we stayed afterwards to watch the fireworks. The A's lost, but, hey - ya can't beat baseball in the summer.

Sunday, we had to go take my car to get serviced - so we bumbled around and found Niles, California. It's the cutest little old railroad town. It has a small mainstreet with an amazing brunch spot called The Vine. While we waited for our table, we walked around the town. We stumbled onto the Railway Museum (only open on Sunday) and some gorgeous tile work and old buildings before amazing breakfast nachos. Eventually, the car got fixed and errands had to be run. But, yeah..Cali has some nice little spots if you stumble onto em.

Scenes from the Weekend

Things have been going along all crazy year.
I'm definitely enjoying the weekends, and trying to find my voice again for this little spot of mine.

Friday Night was for tacos,

and relaxing with a book in the tub.

I've picked up Serena and it's actually pretty good so far.
I tend to stick with non-fiction or historical fiction, so it's a bit of a change of pace.
Except not really, since it's set in the early 1900s..
in Western, North Carolina...
and they talk about Biltmore.

Saturday morning we worked on cleaning out the guest room a bit.
Shiva helped.
Sorta.

Then we met up with some of Mike's friends from Georgia Tech for a beer.

A pretty uneventful Saturday night switched into a perfectly relaxed Sunday Morning.
A perfect Sunday morning complete with mimosas and bloody marys,

and Cinnamon Roll Waffles,

and a lot of Football.

Why do weekends seem to be so short?
Why is my glass always empty?
Deep questions going on over here ;)

HOWEVER: Check back this week for a LIFE CHANGING recipe:
Cinnamon. Roll. Waffles.
They're easier than poptarts and so delicious, you'll flip. I swear

Weekend Update

Welp, another weekend bites the dust.

Friday
Shiva took her traditional "Dad's not home and I'm sad" nap all night,

while I did a little nail art.

Saturday

I picked up Mike from Brazil!

We took a little family nap.

Mike brought me these beauties from Brazil

Then it was off to get my hairs did.
Truth be told, it's a bit darker than I like.
(I feel like the villain in a Disney movie)

Mike and I went on a nice little date night too!

Sunday

We made it to brunch! It seems like that never happens anymore...

then watched some football, did some chores, and called it a day.

(ps 167 days til the wedding...no pressure on me or anything)

Weekend Update

So, maybe it isnt this weekend.
This weekend was just chores, and naps, and..yeah.
Last Weekend was much better.

Friday
I scored a couple tickets from T7L for when
we're up in NY at the end of the month.
Should be a blast.

Mike and I met after work for some drinks and dinner,

then headed home for some Olive snuggles.

(Psst, they had these lillies in the bathroom at the bar, and they were fantastic.

Saturday
I love weekend mornings.
Shiva always snuggles into bed early for some extra cuddles.

After dragging myself out of bed, it was run time.

THEN, sushi time!

Finally, we were off for a little retail therapy.
I found a halloween costume.

I also took some time to peruse the Kate Spade store.
I promised myself if I ran/did power yoga consistently,
I would buy myself the wallet I've been craving.
So, I went to get myself some inspiration.

Sunday
I made waffles
(with the waffle maker from our shower)

I painted my nails (it's important)

Then tucked into some football for the day.

Linking up, for the first time in a while.
Trying to pull this blogging thing off again. <3
