Wedding Randoms

WE HAVE A MONOGRAAAAAAAAAAAAAM.
(Say it like Oprah. JUST. DO. IT.)

I wanted to get one to use on the welcome table during the wedding,
as well as in life after the wedding,
(we all know I lurve a good monogram)
and after searching out a good etsy vendor,
She's HERE.

boom.

That is all. Back to your day.

Wedding Randoms

There's a lot of little things involved in weddings.
(There's a lot of big things too, mind you)
I need to get better at blogging both of them.
So, here goes:

My adorable bridal shower invites:

Bride to Be + Wine? Yes Please.

And finally, the Glossybox Bridal Box:
There were definitely some adorable goodies that I'm sure I'll be using next March and beyond.

So, late last week,
my photographer posted this on instagram.

Do you know what was inside?
I'll give you a sneak peak!

Wine Country

On Saturday Morning,
we dropped Shiva off at the boarder,
and headed up to wine country.

First, we stopped in Santa Rosa.

The weather was perfect,
so we meandered a bit,

before our table at Russian River Brewery was ready.

To say the place was "packed" is an understatement.
BUT, the "everything" sampler, totally made it worth it.

You HAVE to get it if you go.
It's really not -that- much,
especially when drank with food and over time.
AND it's tasty.

Then we drove around, looking at vineyards,
sampling some of the wines,
and generally enjoying the day.

We eventually found ourselves at Red Car Winery.
If you're in Santa Rosa, you should really stop by.
Fun atmosphere, great people, even greater wine.

We might have joined their wine club.
OH, and all the artwork on their bottles is STELLAR.
Check out this set, which have a boxing theme going.

Finally, we went to Rosso for dinner.

While the pizza is excellent,
the bruschetta is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G

Sunday,
we headed over to our meet our wedding coordinator,
and walk around our venue.
THIS is the only photo I have.

I didnt take a lot of pictures,
because I was getting a lot done.
I'm not going to tell you anything about the wedding,
except its going to be beautiful and perfect.
I'm so excited.

We had one last chance to grab some food in the Valley of the Moon,
before heading back to the work week.

Weekend Update

Friday
After work on Friday, Mike and I met up for some dinner and drinks,

with a side of "Learn How to Write Your New Name."
Mike had to teach me the ins and outs of such a long last name.

Then we came home,
to my new collection of Harry Potter Ultimate Editions,

and let Shiva and the kittens play together.
Or, let Shiva play, while Olive and Oi hid.

Saturday
I FINALLY found a new salon!
Pualani at Bigsby House is amazing.

It was about time.
Mike asked me last week if I was ever going to do it again.
(Not a subtle hint)

I met up with Mike for lunch,

then we headed over to his office for a bit.

Finally, twas out to watch the Sharks/Giants/Knicks/Boxing match.

Sunday
Since Mom wasn't here to make me birthday biscuits and gravy,
I made my own.

Then, it was such a gorgeous day we played with bubbles,

and took Miss Thing to the dog park.

This is the face of a successful park day.

Finally?
A wee ice cream cone.
Why? Cause it was awesome.

Not bad for my last weekend of being 26.

Popping the Big Question

So, any bride will tell you that one of the biggest parts of wedding planning,
is getting the right wedding party.

Being pretty obsessed with Pinterest,
and knowing that all my bridesmaids are at least 3000miles away,
I knew this had to be done right.

I present to you,
the bridesmaid boxes.

There were a few little goodies.

The things that took the most effort, were really the most fun.
Monogrammed wine glasses (with each girl's monogram)

and a mini wine bottle with our couple's monogram as the label.

Luckily enough, they all said yes.
(I secretly think it was the blow-pops)
Just like that, on we go towards 3/22/14.

psst. If you haven't noticed. I've created a label specifically for posts about our wedding.
You can click on it and see all the posts about the big day. :)

State of Our Union, Bonus Edition

In honor of the actual State of the Union,
last night.
Let me show you a little something.

Our engagement announcements.
I love a good monogram, and the simplicity of the clinking glasses,
plus the green and gold go beautifully with the bridesmaid earrings from
As soon as I opened them
I knew I'd be squirreling them away to use for my own color inspiration,

The State of Our Union

On Saturday,
during GORGEOUS weather,
we went to our first potential
WEDDING VENUE.

Seriously though, this place was pretty stellar.

I. Love. It.

My only wish,
is that I could get a guarantee on the weather.

Weddings

It's not a secret that Mike and I are in the midst of wedding planning.
It's not a secret that the easiest way to plan is to think about what you DIDNT like from other weddings you've been to, and do the opposite.

It's difficult however, when your friends throw the most awesome of awesome weddings,
to not just copy every little thing and call it a day.
I've already warned April that she should expect that.

Right before we left Raleigh,
literally the day before,
we went to our dear friends April & Jeremy's wedding.
I was waiting to post about it, until she had posted.
BUT, the time has come, my friends.

Prepare for photo overload:

Champagne Toast while getting ready.
Lady in Waiting
Driving to the venue
The Entry way
Our Bridesmaids attempt
<3 t minus 13 months
First dance swaying
All they Bouquets.
THE best food ever served at a wedding. Ever.

Desert Table
So, here's one of the ideas that we're totally copying in some way, or form.
Instead of table numbers, each table was a different PLACE they had been together.
FABULOUS.

ECU table..
Moline Table
Go check out her post: HERE: to see the other tables & more details.

Her shoes and sparkly tablecloths (Also to be stolen)

Cake Cutting
Running through a field of streamers.

At Busy Bee, post wedding.

And, because I couldn't NOT steal them,
here's some instagrams that I swiped from other attendees.

and finally, a smidgen of the professional pics.
You can see more on April's blog.

Seriously? She's gorgeous.
LOVE this shot.

Also, notice my location in the next two frames.

I spent too much time on the ground at that day.
And, just because.

Seriously, Apes' wedding was fantastic, beautiful, charming, everything a wedding should be.
I was so grateful and lucky to be a part of it, and it definitely makes me look forward to ours.
