Weekend Update

Friday
Friday was the end to a very long week at work.
Don't get me wrong, it was a good week, just really long.
BUT, There was Jamba Juice at work (for free!) so, I'll call it a success.

After work, I took a nap.
I'm going to blame it on the super long week,
but it's probably the 90* heat we've had lately.

Afterwards, Mike and I headed to The Cheesecake Factory,
so we didn't have to cook in the kitchen.

Saturday
We spent Saturday running errands.
We desperately needed more fans for the house.
We also needed a new harness and leash for Shiva,
and groceries. The pantry was pretty bad.

So, for our super exciting Saturday night,
we had sushi,

and then went to Safeway to buy groceries.
I know what you're saying.."WOAH KIDS, SLOW DOWN, dont go crazy!"
On the plus side, we now have fresh food, and I got to see cactus leaves for sale.
If anyone knows how to cook/eat this weird beast, let me know.

Sunday
After exchanging the too big harness
and the already broken leash,
with a couple more forgotten errand stops in between,
it was finally brunch time.

French toast croissant and chicken sausage brunch time.
Delish.

Then Mike got started on Bioshock, while Shiva and I caught up on our celebrities.

Finally, we celebrated Cinco de Mayo with the new Limearita.
NOT BAD, actually. I'm totally not a Bud fan, but this one has summer written all over it.

  5. Your weekend looked like a great way to beat the heat. Glad you got your fans before they are gone.

If you google nopal or nopales recipes, you'll get a whole lot of ideas on how to use the cactus paddles. We eat them marinaded in tacos but I had a BIL that would grill them like meat.
