Work Update

Hey Loves, 

Want a few more peeks around life here in sunny Cali?

I added an AWESOME new picture to my desk, 

and brought in some southern monogrammed charm. 

I also seem to have a lavender and green theme going...

at least with my kleenex, lotion and stapler. 

My current desktop and screensaver always make me smile, 

as does the little green sheep that pokes out. 

It's also pretty sweet to finally be official. 

OH! AND, it's snowing!

Or, well, the trees are dropping these sweet little white petals 

ALL THE TIME.

Weekend Update

Let me just get this out of the way: 

I'm not dead. I'm back to blogging (i hope). I missed you. 

ahem. 

Friday, 

When I got home from work, 

I had a fantastic little package waiting for me. 

Let me just tell you, 

THEY. ARE. AMAZING. 

I mean, yeah, for the price they should be, but I am so glad that I gifted this little beauties to myself. I can't wait to wear the heck out of them. They're so comfy too. 

After Mike got home and I showed him my new shoes, 

we headed out for a mini date night. 

Beers,  

and sushi,  

followed up by FroYo. 

(Cheesecake with Cinnamon toast crunch is more fantastic than I can tell you)

Saturday,

We enjoyed sleeping in a bit then headed out to get some errands in. 

We stopped at Panera for lunch, 

and then saw this car, that I thought about stealing for Dad. 

We let Shiva snuggle in with a new toy, 

while we snuggled in with some wine and documentaries.  

Sunday,

I was feeling a little blue about missing my family for Easter, 

but we had a great day that really helped. 

Morning mimosas, 

some lillies that bloomed just in time,  

and best of all, an Easter basket from my wonderful fiance. 

These little bits are my favorite goodies. 

A mini Vader (who will now live on my desk), an Easter shot glass,

 and a candy wand with Belle. (She's my favorite princess, btw)

Mike also mentioned that he picked out the grass to be specifically wedding colors. 

Gosh, I love that man. 

Mike then fired up the grill,  

and made small talk with Olive, 

while I did a bit more wedding crafting.  

This weekend was really nice. 

We got to relax a bit, and well, it's been a while. 

I'm even linking up, again. 

YOWZA. 

Just a treat for myself.

One of the sweet perks of being back to work, 

is being back to paid. 

Now, while I'm *REALLY* happy to be able to contribute monetarily, 

both to the household and to treating Mike to dinners, gifts and surprises, 

I'm in the mood to treat myself a bit. 

Moving so far from home, 

setting up a new home, 

applying to a job that I loved,
AND GETTING IT. 

I think I get to treat myself to a lil' something. 

So, I want to get myself a bit of a treat. 

These are things I've been oogling for a veeeeeeery long time. 

Investments, but, investments I cant get my mind off of. 

Working Woman pt 2

HEY Y'ALL!!

So, I've officially been at work for a week now. 

I think I'm going to be pretty happy here.

I've sat on some meetings, met some of my coworkers and finally figured out a path to my cubicle without getting lost. So I call the first week a success.

Nervous on my first day..to say the least. 

making my desk seem more..homely

I'm finding a balance between coffee and water.

 I'm also having to beef up my wardrobe a bit. 

My last position was in a college environment, so jeans and beer tshirts were normal and acceptable. 

Not so much anymore. 

So, I've been on the hunt for more business casual clothing. 

Looks like I'll have to care when JCrew, Gap, and Nordstrom have their sales this year. 

And, THAT, my friends is the life of this working woman.

Y'all. 

Is it normal to be exhausted every night?

Cause, I've been dying lately. (as in this week)

and going to bed after 10pm seems terrifying.

I survived!

Hi Loves, 

I made it through my first day. 

I survived, I even liked it a lot, 

but

I also crashed last night at 9. 

So, while I had plans to update this little ditty. 

It'll have to wait til tonight. 

I promise to drink more coffee today

It's MARCH y'all.

March has a lot happening. 

I start work on Monday. 

I'm flying to Raleigh for a day, then flying back with my parents. 

Then Mike's parents are coming in. (The In-Laws meet!)
It's our 3 year dateaversary,
and our wedding -1aversary.
(Fun fact. Our parents will get to see our venue, together, 
1 year before our wedding date..
and also on our 3 year anniversary. SO cool)

It's gonna be a big month.
I promise to be around more.
I was just so stressed about the job,
(I really wanted it)
that I got a little lowenergy and freaked myself out.

Maybe you'll even get to see the Europe pics this month..
