Cinnamon Roll Waffles

 I mean...
Just look at these and TRY not to drool on your computer!

Ready for the super complicated ingredient list?
Can of Cinnamon Rolls
Cooking Spray
Powdered Sugar
Milk
Vanilla Extract.

YOU ALREADY HAVE ALL OF THOSE THINGS IN YOUR HOUSE.
I promise.

The Waffles:
Get your waffle iron out and heat 'er up
Spray a healthy coat of cooking spray on both sides
Put one rolled up cinnamon roll in the middle of the iron
Close the iron (you might need to push down a bit) for ~3-4 minutes (til they cook)

Remove and Repeat.

The Icing:
Take the little cup of icing that comes with the cinnamon rolls and scoop into a small bowl
Add 1/3 cup of powdered sugar
Add 1 tablespoon of milk
Add 1/3 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Mix it all together well
Then use your fork to drip the icing over the hot waffles.
Then use your fork to eat them.

I told you! Super super easy and simple. You'll love them

Wine Country

On Saturday Morning,
we dropped Shiva off at the boarder,
and headed up to wine country.

First, we stopped in Santa Rosa.

The weather was perfect,
so we meandered a bit,

before our table at Russian River Brewery was ready.

To say the place was "packed" is an understatement.
BUT, the "everything" sampler, totally made it worth it.

You HAVE to get it if you go.
It's really not -that- much,
especially when drank with food and over time.
AND it's tasty.

Then we drove around, looking at vineyards,
sampling some of the wines,
and generally enjoying the day.

We eventually found ourselves at Red Car Winery.
If you're in Santa Rosa, you should really stop by.
Fun atmosphere, great people, even greater wine.

We might have joined their wine club.
OH, and all the artwork on their bottles is STELLAR.
Check out this set, which have a boxing theme going.

Finally, we went to Rosso for dinner.

While the pizza is excellent,
the bruschetta is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G

Sunday,
we headed over to our meet our wedding coordinator,
and walk around our venue.
THIS is the only photo I have.

I didnt take a lot of pictures,
because I was getting a lot done.
I'm not going to tell you anything about the wedding,
except its going to be beautiful and perfect.
I'm so excited.

We had one last chance to grab some food in the Valley of the Moon,
before heading back to the work week.

Rok Star Dining

Last week,
Mike and I wanted something NEW for dinner.
We found our way to Rok.

So, here's the deal:
Appetizers are various types of cheese fondue,
entrees, we'll get to them,
and desserts are various types of chocolate fondue.

Let's just get into the food pictures.

We started off with Garlic Herb Cheddar fondue.
ALL of them are made tableside, so you really get a full show.
Also, the anticipation of watching for the starter,
definitely heightens your appetite.

Fun fact, the apples in the cheese..SUPER good.
As was the broccoli, but everyone knows broccoli and cheese is a good idea.

THEN.
Entrees.
They have a selections of meats,
including the normal chicken, fish, filet, buffalo,
along with the "wild game" section.
Mike chose Elk ;)

So, they bring out a 750* Himalayan salt rock,
with your raw meat, and you cut off little pieces and cook it yourself,
on the stone, in about 20 seconds.

To say we had fun is putting it mildly.
We grilled the carrots and mashed potatoes too.
Duh.

Finally,
we got the S'mores chocolate fondue.
You know everything you need to know.

Oh, and there was flaming rum to toast the marshmallow creme on top.

It's definitely not the cheapest place,
but to take friends, family or celebrate something,
it's a big hit.
I'm sure we'll be back.

Weekend Update

Another great weekend in the books.
(I know I've failed you guys for weeks on the blog..I'm trying)
Here's some scenes from the last weekend.

Before I give my dad his new CD,
we popped open a nice bottle of bubbles and sang along.
Foo Fighters + Fortunate Son = GO LISTEN NOW.

Shiva's been extra cuddly this weekend.
Maybe it's due to her escape, or my random sickness,
or she's just growing into a fantastically awesome puppy.

Mike has developed a gift for putting her to sleep.
It might look quite Evangelical, but it works on me too.

I'm really falling for California and it's supply of fresh berries.

We bought extras of our July 4th feast,
so we had feast pt 2.

Did you wonder what happened with the berries?
AMERICAN COBBLER.

I went to Macy's to pick up a $60 dress that I saw online.
I ended up getting TWO dresses for $64 instead.
AND, I fit into a smaller size than I thought.
Lesson: Browse Online. Shop Inside.

We also found ourselves full of heart.
Jelly American donuts,

and another batch of Mama's biscuits.

Finally, we went on a hunt for specific summer beverages.
In addition, we took a nice couples photo ;)

I miss this wee blog.
Here's hoping I can make it a real comeback.
But don't call it that.

Weekend Update

Friday

Friday afternoon, I curled up with some popcorn and the Casey Anthony lifetime movie.
Yeah, I'm addicted to true stories. Blame my mother.

After Mike got home, we made our own pizzas (from scratch),

and started to work on putting together some wedding presents.
(Spoiler alert, we didnt get it finished)

Then Mike schooled me in Wheel of Fortune.

 Saturday

We headed out to the Brewer's Supply Store,

then over to Flames for brunch.
Brunch and bottomless mimosas. ;)

We scurried home, because it was such a gorgeous GORGEOUS day,
so that we could take the Shiva for a long walk.

When she got home, we gave her a new "indestructible" toy.

and here's a video you can watch.
It will prove how indestructible this stuff is.

We watched NCSU beat UNC ,

and then headed out to Tied House.
This place is DEFINITELY a winner for a new local place.
GREAT beer and GREAT food.
yumyumyum

Sunday

We headed out early to get in line for the book signing at West Elm for Young House Love.
They really went all out to keep the people in the lines happy,
they handed out rice krispie treats, waters, pecan pie, MILKSHAKES,
in ADORABLE teeny solo cups
 and, of course, COOKIES!

Then, of course, as you wander through the store,
all sorts of decorating ideas come to the light.
I LOVE this vase and the paper flowers,

and there were thousands of ceramic animals.
I wanted the turtle, but Mike said no.
I also want that bear on the top, cause it was a speaker.
Mike said no.

Then, MIKE looked at this lamp and said "I LIKE THAT! Can you make it?"
Why, yes love, yes I can.

Then, of course, I got my book signed.
I'm super shy around people I admire.
John and Sherry included.

The rest of the day we ran errands,
played with shiva, bottled some beer, and got ready for Monday.

Here's to another week!
Linking up with with YOLO, and  Weekend Update.

Weekend!!

This was our first "weekend" in Cali.
I say that because, even though we were here last weekend,
we were still living out of our suitcase and struggling to find everything.
This weekend was, dare I say, normal?

Thursday
We kicked off the weekend, kinda..ish..ok, I just made a good dinner and want to brag.

FALL CUPCAKES!

Comfort: Meat loaf, veggies, and mashed taters!

FRIDAY

After dinner, we headed out to a local pizza joint.
We're trying to find "our" new place, for watching games, quick bites, and just..hanging out.
This, was a serious contender.

Then we came home and skyped with some NC friends during their Thanksgiving gathering.
It was *really* nice to feel a bit closer to home.

Then we popped some popcorn, poured some drinks, and watched Indiana Jones.
yay new jammies!

Saturday

I put on my NC shirt.
I know that was the best sentence you've ever read in your entire life.

We headed into Mountain View to eat at Steak Out,

to drink beers,

and have awesome burgers.

Awesomely LARGE burgers!

We spent the rest of the day rummaging through bookstores (YAY FOR WEDDING PLANNING!), electronic stores (YAY FOR GPS!),  home decor stores, pet stores, and just..being out together.
yup, and game stop too.
Then we went to the movie theatre.
How come YEARS went buy without wanting to see a movie,
and now there's 314 that I want to see?

For the record: See Lincoln.

 Sunday

Mike made breakfast to go with the 10am football game.

We're still getting used to that last bit.
10am.
Football.

Even Shiva decided she'd be better off cuddling up on the couch for a nap.

The rest of the day was spent with more football, unpacking,
and general to-do's around the house.
