Spider Death

OCCASIONALLY,
A spider will breech the safety of our super tall ceilings,
and decide to come murder me.

OCCASIONALLY,
Mike will decide to laugh at my terror,
instead of saving me gallantly.

Then,
I have to take action.

So, I don my long sleeved bathrobe (in case it tries to jump on my arms),
put a large towel over my head (in case it tries to jump on my head),
and hum "the imperial march" (to intimidate mr. spider),
THEN, I go at it with Mike's shoe.

He then has to dispose of the body,
as I am still unsure it's really dead.

gotta do, what ya gotta do.

Weekend Fun

This weekend really had ONE main event.
The Renegade Craft Fair was in San Francisco.
Since it's on my list, I met up with my friend Teresa
and we went exploring.

Another foggy day in the Bay.

Wood Art

Word Art

Let's call this one:
Teresa and the Bear.

We also got disco nail mani's from Sparitual.

Where the Wild Things Are.

Afterwards,
we braved SF traffic to meet up with Chris.
For beer. Duh.

All in all it was a great afternoon!
They have another festival around Christmas,
so I might just have to go back.
I'll bribe Mike with beer and Teresa with bears.

Wine Country

On Saturday Morning,
we dropped Shiva off at the boarder,
and headed up to wine country.

First, we stopped in Santa Rosa.

The weather was perfect,
so we meandered a bit,

before our table at Russian River Brewery was ready.

To say the place was "packed" is an understatement.
BUT, the "everything" sampler, totally made it worth it.

You HAVE to get it if you go.
It's really not -that- much,
especially when drank with food and over time.
AND it's tasty.

Then we drove around, looking at vineyards,
sampling some of the wines,
and generally enjoying the day.

We eventually found ourselves at Red Car Winery.
If you're in Santa Rosa, you should really stop by.
Fun atmosphere, great people, even greater wine.

We might have joined their wine club.
OH, and all the artwork on their bottles is STELLAR.
Check out this set, which have a boxing theme going.

Finally, we went to Rosso for dinner.

While the pizza is excellent,
the bruschetta is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G

Sunday,
we headed over to our meet our wedding coordinator,
and walk around our venue.
THIS is the only photo I have.

I didnt take a lot of pictures,
because I was getting a lot done.
I'm not going to tell you anything about the wedding,
except its going to be beautiful and perfect.
I'm so excited.

We had one last chance to grab some food in the Valley of the Moon,
before heading back to the work week.

Rok Star Dining

Last week,
Mike and I wanted something NEW for dinner.
We found our way to Rok

So, here's the deal:
Appetizers are various types of cheese fondue,
entrees, we'll get to them,
and desserts are various types of chocolate fondue.

Let's just get into the food pictures.

We started off with Garlic Herb Cheddar fondue.
ALL of them are made tableside, so you really get a full show.
Also, the anticipation of watching for the starter,
definitely heightens your appetite.

Fun fact, the apples in the cheese..SUPER good.
As was the broccoli, but everyone knows broccoli and cheese is a good idea.

THEN.
Entrees.
They have a selections of meats,
including the normal chicken, fish, filet, buffalo,
along with the "wild game" section.
Mike chose Elk ;)

So, they bring out a 750* Himalayan salt rock,
with your raw meat, and you cut off little pieces and cook it yourself,
on the stone, in about 20 seconds.

To say we had fun is putting it mildly.
We grilled the carrots and mashed potatoes too.
Duh.

Finally,
we got the S'mores chocolate fondue.
You know everything you need to know.

Oh, and there was flaming rum to toast the marshmallow creme on top.

It's definitely not the cheapest place,
but to take friends, family or celebrate something,
it's a big hit.
I'm sure we'll be back.

Scenes from the Weekend

Just a few snapshots of our weekend,
to rush away the last of the Monday blues.

Evidence of the garden murder.
Shiva is so guilty.

Waiting for our cheese fondue at dinner.
I promise a full report of this place.
Dinner has never been so fun.

A row of boozy goodness on Santana Row.

"Sweet" snuggles.

Did you know Barnes and Nobles sells cute beach totes?

We've been trying to get ready for a new season of Newsroom.
Chinese food helps.

Saturday night shenanigans.

A bathroom attendant you don't have to tip!

If someone could figure out how to make weekends longer,
or make Monday morning less painful,
I'm all ears.

Dog days

Some days, you just wanna pull a Shiva and curl on the couch.

Instead, I'll drink 38246 cups of coffee.

Weekend Update

Another great weekend in the books.
(I know I've failed you guys for weeks on the blog..I'm trying)
Here's some scenes from the last weekend.

Before I give my dad his new CD,
we popped open a nice bottle of bubbles and sang along.
Foo Fighters + Fortunate Son = GO LISTEN NOW.

Shiva's been extra cuddly this weekend.
Maybe it's due to her escape, or my random sickness,
or she's just growing into a fantastically awesome puppy.

Mike has developed a gift for putting her to sleep.
It might look quite Evangelical, but it works on me too.

I'm really falling for California and it's supply of fresh berries.

We bought extras of our July 4th feast,
so we had feast pt 2.

Did you wonder what happened with the berries?
AMERICAN COBBLER.

I went to Macy's to pick up a $60 dress that I saw online.
I ended up getting TWO dresses for $64 instead.
AND, I fit into a smaller size than I thought.
Lesson: Browse Online. Shop Inside.

We also found ourselves full of heart.
Jelly American donuts,

and another batch of Mama's biscuits.

Finally, we went on a hunt for specific summer beverages.
In addition, we took a nice couples photo ;)

I miss this wee blog.
Here's hoping I can make it a real comeback.
But don't call it that.
