An Ode to Julep (Nail Polish Giveaway!)

Friday Hodgepodge

It's FRIDAY!!!!! (just say it like Oprah.)

I think..that today,

I'm going to be a bit more organized in my hodgepodge.

Let's start with   Friday Letters

Dear Friday: Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you. Dear G105: I don't know if you knew how much I needed to relax a bit, but being the random 15 caller for a radio station that I never listen to that I happened to have on and then decided to call (though I never do) and then win a 1 hour massage...Thank You. Dear God: See Above. Dear Shiva: I apologize ahead of time for taking you to work and kennelling you all day. I promise that it's worth it, though it makes you hate me. Dear Mike: Life is crazy and ever changing right now, and I know that it's really hard on both of us..and "us" day to day, but it's worth it. You're worth it. We're worth it. Love you. Dear Mom & Dad: I'll see y'all in less that 12 hours. HORRAY FOR MOM'S COOKING! I hope this is as relaxing as I need it to be. 

Moving on to Manicure chitchat.

From my August Julep Maven box (post forthcoming) Dakota, topped with Sephora's Only Gold for Me.  I really liked this mixture actually, it was a nice blend of rose gold and gold that made it subtle yet eyecatching. And of course, what nail post would I have if I didn't compare it to a beverage. (Or two, from the Beer, Bourbon, BBQ fest)

Dear Total Wine: Your Cab Sav class was fantastic and spectacular and amazing and I loved all the wines. I do love these classes, sorry we had to cancel on the beer class, but we were running out of time. We will return. Pinkie Swear.

Favorite Birchbox: 

July's Glamour Box

The goods 

The Stila eye shadow palette definitely caught my eye. I haven't played with the colors much, but from what I can tell they seem really nice and pigmented. Birchbox earbuds? I was a little confused, but they're TOO cute, and who doesn't need a backup pair. Suki Nourishing Regimen is wonderfully silky and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. It's on the expensive end, but I'm somewhat impressed. Jouer Limp Plumper is subtle, not the bee sting lips that I've seen before, and smells really nice too. It's a little sticky, but nice to keep on hand. Ada Bronzer is my new BFF. We shall see each other soon. LaraBar is ok...the other flavors looked much tastier than the nut roll, so I might give the other ones a shot. Alterna bamboo Hair Protector it's hard to tell if this helps or not. I have red hair, and it isn't fading, so I guess it can get some credit. 

Dear 21st Amendment Brewery, I've been dreaming of Hell or High Watermelon for a week now. I might have to convince Mike to go to Saucer this weekend. 

Favorite Mani: This Essie Mint candy apple with various dots of confetti 

on the disco nail is summery and nice without being overwhelming or distracting. 

might have to revisit both of these. 

Dear Work. It was nice while it lasted..now it's back to business.
