Today (and everyday) I feel a strong sense of Wanderlust. I love Raleigh, North Carolina, and even the US, but, I want to seeeee moreeeee. So, I was inspired to link up with Semi-Charmed Kinda Life for Travel Tuesdays, but with my own twist. Let's so the places I wanna go.

Glad you asked: Washington DC, for the Cherry Blossom Festival

I can't really explain why, but I desperately want to (and have for as long as I can remember) see the blooms around our Capital. They were gifted to the US in 1912 from the people of Japan to the US and there are now almost 3,800 trees. Most of em are around Washington Monument and Potomic Park.

Sigh, of course I want to see the REST of DC, with or without the Blossoms. The Smithsonian (where there's a video game exhibit), the White House, the Capital Building, Kennedy Center, the Lincoln, Iwo Jima, MLK, and Jefferson Memorial, the Holocaust Museum (where my old NCSSM professor now works), Georgetown, and really, I kinda wanna see Mount Vernon again. Also, Mike's cousin is in Med School in DC, so we'd definitely have to peek by and see him.
Ok. I gotta make this happen, right? It's only 4.5 hours, and I have a Prius. There's pretty good transportation there, so that's not a problem. Now, just to pick a weekend in April.

Love this! You found some absolutely gorgeous pictures. I've only been to D.C. once that I can really remember, but I fell in love immediately. In fact, I really hope to live there one day in the near future.
