Has it really been 11 years?
Like everyone else in my generation,
I remember where I was when we all heard the news.
"Terrorists are attacking New York!"
was yelled down the hallway, met with "Shut up, Travis."
Halfway through Law Studies class,
the principal told everyone to turn on the televisions.
My heart broke.
I think that was the first time I felt such strong pain for people I never met.
And every year, the lump in my throat comes back.
I had no ties to the city then, but it's deep in my soul now and one of it's own has stolen my heart.
Just a quick reminder that everything constantly changes,
a quick reminder to take it all in,
a quick reminder to be thankful for the everyday.
I was in the 8th grade, but remember it like yesterday. I knew that it was absolutely horrible, but I couldn't quite understand what had actually happened. It's amazing how in just one day, the whole world can change. Be safe today love. Great post.
